Odd Brake/Turnsignal on passengerside

Ok watched my girlfriend go to work in her 2001 Blazer noticed that her passengerside brake light did not come on. So I went to her place of work and picked up blazer brought it home to fix. I just assumed it was a burnt bulb. Well I took off the covers and swapped bulbs and the one that I though was bad worked?? Soon I found out that the turn signal lights would not work on either even though the bulbs were good. The front signals worked fine.

So got my meter out and checked to see if possibly that the wiring harness was corroded. But all the plugs looked fine. Checked for power but only from running lights and thats it. No brake light power or turn signal power.

I then made a jumper wire from the driverside turnsignal plug to the passengerside plug. And both bulbs/plugs started working. So this lead me to believe that possilby that the turnsignal switch on the steering colum is bad ... but then how would this relate to the brake lights not having power either?? So is there a junction somewhere in the rear??? Im guessing that the wires only run down one side of the body?? And the 3rd brake light works fine on top.
I dont thinks it the streering switch must be in the wiring some where.
Any clues on where to start. Dont want to start pulling off a bunch of panels everywhere to find it.

If all else fails I guess I could run a wire from drivers side brake light to the passengerside. But then I have to run a wire from front turn signal to rear one... seems that might be my better solution. Any thoughts???

Brake and rear turn signal are on same wire.
But different wire for right and left.
You can not wire front signals to rear.

If no power to left rear turn then check for power out of turn signal switch.

If left rear power out of turn signal switc then check for broken or bad wire from turn signal to rear.

Also some are on seperate fuses so check all fuses to.

Check underhood fuse box for turn signal fuses.
Should be two right and two left turn signal fuses.
One for rear and one for front.

Test for power both sides with test light.

Let us know what you find there.

I checked the fuse box by the driverside door. and im pretty sure there was only one fuse for turn signals.
Yeah I realized that I couldnt wire up brake/turnsignal after a while.
I am getting now power at to the plugs for brake or turnsignal.

Now another clue that might help is that when I turn on my right blinker *passengerside* it blinks real fast vs slow for the driverside that blinks I would say normal.

I was wondering if in the hatch back if the wiring has a conection there where possibly it might have come loose???

It has to be something simple I cant see how the brake and turnsignal could both go out. Im thinking it has to be a conection somewhere but I really have no clue where to start. I took off a panel in the back but it appears that the wiring is all inside the body and not much of chance of checking it. But I could be wrong. Any help would be great

Mt 2500 Im going to check under the hood as you suggested but I never thought of a different system besides what is by the driversides dash. One always learns something. Thanks

Should be 4 turn signal fuses in underhood fuse box.
Check them all.

Driver side dash is usually refering to fuse panel in left side of dash.

Just got back from the shop and sure enough it was the fuse under the hood. Your the Man MT2500

Go to the fuses under hood fuse box.

Turn turn signal on and see if turnsignal is feeding to and threw the turn signal fuse.
Be sure to check on both sides of fuse.

If it is blinking both sides of fuse then check at rear and see if turn signal is getting to rear.

The underhood fuse box may not be marked for rear or front turn signal fuse.
May be just two right and two left turnsignal fuses
Look for and check both.
The rear turnsignal will have brake light when brake pushed down.
Left rear turn singal wire is yellow and riight rear is dark green.
