03 f250 4x4 trans problem

Had transmission rebuilt about six months ago. When the weather got cold recently the trans started shifting hard from 1st to 2nd just the first time then everything was fine. Two days ago driving home on a 180 mile round trip, made a stop and when I got back on the highway the trans started to slip in high and then the overdrive kicked off. Stopped on side of road and had no reverse. Drove the truck about another 20 miles, and the trans would slip in high if you gave it throttle, but was fine if you took it easy. Parked truck for about and hour. When I started out again it worked just like new. Drove it the next day to work and back and it was fine until I was a few miles from home and it started slipping again. When i was in my drive way i tried all gears and everything works and it will even spin out in the gravel. Any ideas what is going on?
