97 ranger won't heat up

I have a 97 Ranger 2.3 Liter. I lost my heat just in time for winter. My blower motor works so I figured It was either my thermostat or the temperture control switch on the dash. I got the thermostat because it was only $7.00. Now before I changed it out my thermostat my temp guage would be about half way. After I changed the thermostat which I found in about 4 pieces when I got the housing off my temp guage is reading cold. Any Ideas???

Heater blend door broken?? I had a problem like this and found out it was the heater blend door. Easy fix with a dremmel and some tape. Door is a $12 item. No need to tear dash apart just slice the heater box at the bottom and the blend door is right there. Did mine over a year ago and has worked great ever since.
