92 dakota 2.5L won't start when cold

On cold mornings, engine will crank, but won't start. It has strong smell of gas, like its flooded, sometimes it will start after a while, other times have to let set for a while, then try starting. any help!!!!!

I had a problem like that to recently....Fortunately my truck is a stick so I jump started it...But I didn't make it home as it died half way into my trip with it...The Cam Shaft snapped into two pieces...Idk if this could be what you have going on but you may want to call a mechanic and ask him if it could be that and see what he says.
