1998 nissan altima misfire

hi i have a 1998 nissan altima gxe and last night i got a Cylinder 2 misfire and i checked the spark plugs and wires and don't no what else to do.

When you say, "checked the spark plugs and wires" what does that mean? What did you "check" for?

Did the misfire happen at idle speed or while driving? How often has this problem happened? Does the engine seem to stumble when you accelerate?
