Another 4x4 question....

Hey guys,

Just got a '99 jimmy 4x4. this is the first truck i have ever owned and know that the 4x4 has been in questionable working order.

i'm just wondering how the truck would act if the 4x4 was stuck in the on position. what would the truck do on dry pavement that would be a give away as opposed to driving in 4x2?

thanks for the help!!

Daniel

Correct, if stuck in 4WD HI it will do the same as any old 4X4 on the dry.

Re: Another 4x4 question....

Sorry, should have elaborated.

You will get driveline binding. It will make the truck not want to go forward with the wheels turned to the left or right. You could also have clunking and bucking while trying to do this. You would get dramatically decreased gas mileage driving on dry pavement in 4WD. These trucks average 16=18MPG so use that as a guess-timate.
