2004 Siverado drivers door controls won't work

My 2004 Silverado for the past month has been giving me grief. My drivers door controls will not work. Power windows, power lock (Drivers side.), power mirrors and nothing will light up. Problem is it is interminted. Some days they work some days they don't. Any idea where to start.

When you say it is intermittent, do you mean that the controls either ALL work or don't work or that some do and some don't at different times?

If the whole set of controls is not working, I would look at the power going to the control button assembly, specifically the wiring going through the door harness. There may be a fatigue break where the door hinges are, causing intermittent contact as you open and shut the door. Also, if the door wiring ends with a common ground, then the ground wire may be corroded at the body connection or broken. Start there. Post back if otherwise. Good luck!

Re: 2004 Siverado drivers door controls won't work

When I say intermittent I mean they will all work or all of a sudden none of them work. If you drive at night you can actually see the lights turn off and on as your driving. Sometines it will work for a couple of days then it won't work for a week. I've visually looked at the connection thru the door but it seems to be well wrapped with no sighns of damage. I will see if I can find the ground for that side of the door.

since the window regulators need frequent replacement I would remove the door panel and check out all the wiring / connectors as they are a PITA sometimes to remove install...and I would remove connectors , inspect pins and reinstall...

these connections will get disturbed when the window regulator is replaced...

with this design if you leave the window open slightly water falls right on all this stuff...
