Check engine lights and traction light

We hitting a bump or turning the wheel hard all the lights come on. Traction light, check engine, anti lock lights all come on at once.

Re: Check engine lights and traction light

Check the connections and wires from each hub (fronts first). Most likely you have a broken wire from the speed sensor in the hub. The wires are easy to find, they are the only wires coming from your hubs. Pay close attention to anywhere the wires flex or bend with suspension or steering movement.
Also check your brake fluid. Low fluid can cause the ABS/Trac lights to come on.

Re: Check engine lights and traction light

If none of that worked you probably have a bad hub. The lights coming on is a tell tale sign of that issue.

Re: Check engine lights and traction light

With close to 160k miles on my 2001 Alero, this problem just started when I brought the car to have a bearing replaced.

So the right bearing was replaced and then off I went; it was also snowing then boom 3 light came on:

Anti-lock
Service engine soon
Trac off

Now after I drive for 2-5 minutes, the light comes on but worst, when i turn the steering to the right, i hear this loud humming sound.

I have no clue why it's doing this. But everytime the lights come on, it seems that the rpm of the engine also goes slightly up as if the car has to do more effort to keep the same speed.

Anyone has a clue what this might be? I'm having the brake pads fixed this week. Could it be a bad wire from sensor to hub? Low brake fluid?

Re: Check engine lights and traction light

I would check the wires and brake fluid, but I don't think they are your problem.
If the humming happens only (or louder) during a right turn, I think your left front hub is bad. An ABS capable scan tool can tell you for sure.
