Gas Mileage & Curb Weight

Sorry I forgot to mention it is a 1995 with a slushbox.
With a stripper model Voyager that has a 3.0 Litre V6 (about 141HP) I get low 20sMPG. What do you get with your van?

On a side note figuring out her curb weight is a humdinger. Registration as well as several websites claim the weight is about 3,000LB, but the door decal claims 5,500 plus LB. Which is correct?

Since the decal appears to be wrong about Curb Weight I would like to know if 35PSI is the proper tire pressure and how to find out whether your van was built in Missouri or Canada.

You don't say which model year is your van. The first generation standard length vans were around 3k lbs. The decal about tire pressure is correct, you can add 2-3 psi to it for slightly better mpg. My sister used to have an 89 standard length with the 3 liter and 3 speed and used to get around 28 mpg highway at around 65 mph.

You have to look at the sticker closer. 5,500 lbs is the GVW rating. Gross Vehicle Weight. That is the van and a full load. If the first # in the vin is a 1 it was made in the US. If it is a 2 it was made in Canada.

Re: Gas Mileage & Curb Weight

Oh, I see, I always thought GVW was the gross weight of the van. Thanks for the clarification. I think only the GVW is listed on the door decal and tomorrow I am going to check and see if it was built in U.S.of A or CA.
I try to leave the PSI between 37 & 38.
Thank you.
