Died while driving

92 1500 5.7

While driving the truck just died, no warning, no engine codes
Things that were replaced...

Fuel pump, fuel filter, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, pcv valve, throttle body gaskets.

Before the fuel pump was replaced the truck had no power, and would die when you hit the gas from a standstill. But now it's fine, and the only thing is before it's warmed up it slightly backfires, and the one time it died while driving when already warmed up. It started right back up, and drove fine. It slightly lacks power for the first gear at the first couple of seconds when flooring it.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Died while driving

i had the same thing happen to me with my 95. ended up being a ground problem. the motor had been swapped for a newer one and the mechanic didnt put the ground from the battery to the motor. just the ground to the body. there was a small ground going to the motor from the heater core but being so small it eventually burnt in half. it ran like crap up untill that it did that. when that happened i couldnt even get the truck to crank. wish i would have known before i replaced all the other stuff.

Re: Died while driving

Well thank you for your input. I'll take a look at that right away and see if I find the same problem.
