Unhappy 1987 camero ..MAF sensor problems..help a chick out

my 1987 2.8 with 84,000 miles has been in 4 diffrent shops from maine to florida. everytime they do a diagnostics test it reads MAF... i have replace the sensor 4 times from 4 diffrent auto distributors. The car will coke ,spit, and sputter..W/engine light on! if i unplug the MAF, the car runs great! I just recentley had all the wires and grounds checked, replaced the computer, and had a vacume test done. im pulling my hair out.. because this is my daily driver.. driving the car with the MAF unpluged makes the car run really rich, sucks up the gas, and the engine light is driving me nuts.... please if anyone has any thoughts i would be so very grateful.

its probably a vacuum leak. the cheap way of test it your car for this is.....
get a bottle sprayer, fill it with water and then just spray the whole engine. If the is a change in the idle once you have sprayed it in a particular area of the engine, it will help you narrow it down. hope this helps.

Yeah, let me know if it works. Just remember that the car has to be running.
