Escort91 noisy fuel pump,stalling problems

Hallo everyone.
I just got this thing,it has very nosy fuel pump.I can hear the wining from the driving seat while I am driving.I newer heard fuel pump been so nosy on other cars. Some times car stalls and it has luck of power just before it's happens, and it kind of hard to start it again ,but when it starts it's skyrocketing with fool power no problem.
Does anyone knows if this problemm related to fuel pump?
Idiling is fine.... No check engine light is coming up
Thank you..

My advice is it doesn't matter if the fuel pump is the problem. You should replace it anyway. Sounds like it needs it. While you are at it replace the fuel filter.

If you do replace the pump, then remove the rear seat cushion first and I think you'll find a removable access plate which will allow you to do the job from inside the car without dropping the tank. Can't say for sure that that's true for the '91, but I think it is.

Someone may have already replaced the pump and didnt get it mounted so that it is isolated from the bottom of the tank - that could make it sound louder. But my own (limited) experience with noisy fuel pumps is that its a dying pump. So I agree with replacing the pump ASAP.
I now like to put a small amount of motor oil into the fuel tank anytime we are going on a long drive, to help lube the pump a little. For an Escort's fuel tank size I would put in 1/4th to 1/2 a quart.
