67 chevelle ( wheres the back up light switch)

The reverse lights do not come on. i replaced the old rusted lights and realized there is no switch on the transmission. it looks like there isnt even a spot to mount it.
question is, did this year come with a floor shifter? and does anyone know where i can find some pictures to lead me in the right direction. I know there should be a switch there, previous owner probably took it off. but I cant see how or where a new one would mount. help please
