I have a 1999 Silverado. Drove it home, everything was working fine. Tried to start it the next day....lights come on, horn works...won't roll over. Speedometer shows me doing 180 kms. just sitting there lol. Checked fuses, they are good. Any ideas?? Thanks

It may think you are trying to steal it. I wish I could remember more details...

is the sercuity light On ? if so the engine will not run,,,but the starter will crank.. if the starter does nothing, hit the starter with a hammer while someone has the key held in the crank position.. check all the starter wires for security even the one with no wire on it...check battery cables connections especially grounds/engine grounds etc......... |

Re: 1999 Silverado won't roll over
Even if the Check Engine light is not turned on scan it for codes it might tell you what is wrong, 180kms roughly = 112 mph which I cannot think of anything significant about that speed, if no codes were logged unhook the battery for 10 minutes and then try it again.

Re: 1999 Silverado won't roll over
Thanks all for your input. Turns out it was a bad wire to the solenoid.
