Aoshima Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR

Finally finished this build. Even though I was the first to get it on here, I ended up not finishing it first but I think the slow progress paid off for me with this build. There are some minor flaws but overall, I'm impressed in how well this came out. I've noticed that the last two builds from members here didn't paint the headlights with the black housing, so I've done that with mine. You can see the progress work here. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=961123

What do you guys think?

Good job, I like wheels and blue wheel nuts. Only this paint. Some place's have more metallic flake's. And every panel corner is more bright. Try make some panel lines with black paint. Will be looks much better

Nice looking car and the blue highlights on the parts are nice too!

The stance looks perfect! Did you lower this or did that come box stock? I like the blue it looks so deep at some parts, but the panel edges look like there's not enough paint (or maybe it's the reflections) Like mentioned try doing a black wash on those edges.

Re: Aoshima Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR

Agree on the paint; it isn't as even as it could be but metallics out of a can are very hard to get right, especially around panel edges.
If you can, you should spray a few mists along the panel lines, sand down smooth then cover the body.
Don't try to get complete coverage in one go with a spray can.
It's very tempting to go heavy with a single coat straight away because it looks ok as you're doing it but as it cures, it will pull away from the edges.

Also, where you joined the rear bumper to the body.
It might've been better to use some secondary support inside the parts; a piece of laid styrene across both parts maybe. That way, you could clean up that glue joint and re-mark the panel line.

As others have said, fill in the panel lines.
Maybe mix up a dark, dark, dark blue (avoid black).
Don't forget to paint inside the exhaust tips.

Re: Aoshima Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR

Kaho - It came box stock. There are options if you want it lower or not. I chose the lower with bigger wheels. That's why the stance looks aggressive.

As for the panel lines. Some are because of the reflection from the sun, but yes, some panel lines I've noticed don't have enough paint so I will try to take up drunkenmonkey's tip and try to fill it in with some dark blue paint. As for the exhaust, I've already filled it in black. Thanks for the comment.s =D
