99-3.8 Loosing Coolant, Can Smell it in engine area

I am loosing engine coolant I would say around half a gallon every 1-hour of driving. I can not see any leaks but I can smell the engine coolant under the hood. I do not see any water in the oil. I can't believe all this water in going in the intake manifold. Where oh were is the water going.

My sister had a similar problem with her 02 Grand AM several trips to the dealer and they never discovered what it was, eventually it just stopped.

I had this problem. I was losing coolant like crazy. I took it to a mechanic and it ended being a problem with the water pump, but you would never know because the coolant would sear off so quickly. I think it cost about 200-250.

While you are checking things, look at the plastic elbows that connect the tensioner and water pump to the block/lower intake manifold. They degrade over time and will eventually leak. My '99 did that and did not show any noticeable leak. The parts are cheap, generally $5 for the pair. Here is a link to a forum here that helped me immensely.
