stupid window motor!!!

took the truck apart to see why the down doesnt work.........after trying 3 switches from the junkyard. is it possible all 3 switches i tried are bad??? i pulled the motor out and it goes up and down with direct power. just by reversing the connections. now when i hook it up to the switch it goes up but not down. is there a relay or something or does the switch reverse the polarity?

Re: stupid window motor!!!

i just recently fixed a problem similar to this, chances are that not all 3 switches are bad, to check this use your good old dvm (digital volt meter) and check continuity on the switch in both the up and down positions, with the switch pushed in up or down you should have 0 ohms resistance. then hook it back to the harness and back probe to see if you have batt voltage in both positions. i had just that, and after checking the motor the same way you did it worked as well. just for giggles i replaced the motor with a known good motor and it worked like a charm in both positions with the switch. also i used white lithium spray lube on the tracks to help with binding on the window regulator.
