2000 5.3 throttle body info

I would like to replace the throttle body with a bigger mm throttle body and spacer. What size is the stock ? If I would install a bigger throttle body what else would I have to to to make sure it is right? I was told that I would need bigger fuel pump, larger injectors, ECM reprogrammed but is this correct and if so anything else that would need to be replaced? Where would be the best palce and mfg for the throttle body.

I wonder if those tubro-fins work?

Throttle bodies are used for Air, the signal from the MAF sensor is given to the PCU for the proper Air/fuel mix, the engine burns, the up-stream 02 sensor is a feedback signal for the PCU on how well it's being burned.

MAF sensor (Intake) > Combustion Engine > down stream O2 sensor (exhaust), the PCU is for the control.

For regular street driving a bigger TBI will not help.
Are you wanting more power or speed or higer RPM.

these vehicles are not designed with any easy HP gains. you would need to do alot motor work, and Pcm tuning to get a little extra..
the exhaust as well is of a very low restiction, most see nothing on larger pipes..

when I installed the KN air filter I noticed better throttle response. cleaning the MAF/IAC/THROTTLEBODY also helped.
my 2000 5.3L appears to have alot of power now at 125,ooomi...

if the engine is running a little lean vac leak/O2 sensor/cat converter pluged this could very much affect the engine power..

TBI is not going to help.
And As said no easy way to do it.
HP has to be made inside engine.

Some people use programer to up hp
BUT MAY NOT BE LEGGAL.

I would just keep it tuned up good.
You should have enough power to tow trailer.
Good Luck
