a rumor I heard
As I have been researching the sr20det swap I have ran into a few places that say this engine in electronically governed to 112mph I was wondering if there is actually any truth to this. Also I was wondering if any of you happen to know what the general top speed is for a lightly modified RB25det in a 240sx? thanks for the help

Quite likely that the SR20 is electronically limited to 112. I know that the RB26DETT is limited to 112 also!! That's pretty ridiculous. As fo the RB25, sorry, don't know what kind of speeds. They may be limited also. However, nothing a little modifying won't fix! With light mods I'm guessing around 140 MPH maybe? Not sure, just a ballpark figure.

if youre talking about doing a conversion using JDM parts, including their computer, every single one will be limited to 180kph (112mph) its the law over there. there are multitudes of ways around this however.

over 115? wow.. lol.
you need to just pick up your 1/4 mi time... gonna get yourself killed on the hiway dude!  i'm not sure how to do it (i have an auto) but i know it's possible. i'll look a lil later and post when i find out how to do it.

112mph is basically the Japanese limited 200kph...but is easily fixed

yeah I was wondering the same thing because I really have not found all that much. it is really annoying when my governer cuts in on my KA and I am sure that it will be much more frustrating with an sr or rb.
and as for going over 115 being really fast I don't even race but I drive over 100 for probably 20% of all the highway driving I do. then again I only drive that fast when there is close to no one else on the road. driving that fast with other people on the road is just plain wrekless.

umm Driveing that fast is always wreckless
 if u get caught your car will be impounded and your licensed suspended, you might even get jail time i think. Going over 100 is breaking the law...

yes that is the unfortunate truth thankfully I have only had one ticket in my 240 and that was almost a year ago in a small town in texas. and yes going over 100 is wrekless but when you are doing it on empty freeways in the middle of nowhere you are only endagering yourself and unsuspecting animals.

yeppers, dont get my wrong im all for hi speeds, but when no ones around, including cops ;-)

well isnt breaking the law just simply going ver the speed limit?
 , the highest speed limit here ive seen in miami is 65 mph
