I need a LS mechanic

Heres the deal, My wife has a 02 ls V8 with 99K miles that she absolutly loves. I did all kinds of work to it like paint, lse body kit, intake, exhaust, rims, wing, details, and so on. Its a head turner to say the least.

Driving this thing is a different story all together. Its got all the LS issues you can read about on this forum and I have no time to tackel any these projects. So I want to find someone who knows all about these cars to do the work for me and get this thing back up to par. I could have the ford garage do it but I figure I could save alot of cash by finding the right guy who knows what to look for and has fixed these issues before.

I live in Wisconsin and would be willing to get the car to you or, I have access to a nice heated shop with a hoist. Let me know what works for you. [email protected]. Thanks.

Re: I need a LS mechanic

Maybe you should list the issues that you know it has. It might be difficult to find someone that is good at changing coils out AND rebuilding the transmission. Or some folks that are totally comfortable changing the coils may not be comfortable replacing a clockspring in the steering column, or may not be willing to for liability reasons. The V8 is pretty easy to work on, if you've installed intake and exhaust, you know this and "common" misfires from valve cover gaskets should only take you a fraction of a day to change out. Many of the common issues might even take less time for you to remedy than trying to coordinate getting the car to a person nearby.

Re: I need a LS mechanic

This morning I put it up in the air and im on here reading about the hydrolic pump leak issue. thats makeing it undrivable at the moment so thats my main priority. can I even do this myself? or should I take it in? I did the valve cover gasket job with the help of a freakin awesome pdf file (thanks to shorod) with step by step instructions. got anything like that for the hydrolic pump issue? I hate to take it in when I have the tools. too bad I have more tools than time.

Re: I need a LS mechanic

I looked at the fan and its clean of any fluid so I assume that that doesnt need any attention at this time. the pump is leaking bad though, and I cant see from where exactly. I hope its just a bad hose or connection. theres still fluid to leak out so the leak is recent enogh to assume that the pump has not been run dry and damaged. any tips on how to get this thing out and what to look for once I do?
