Anti-lock sensor o-rings

I cleaned my antilock sensors on the front of my 2000 Surburban and when I cleaned the passenger side the o-ring fell apart. I called my local dealer on the part, but Chevrolet doesn't list it!? I am currently waiting to hear back from them to see if they can at least get me the dimensions of the o-ring so I can get it somewhere else. Does anybody have any idea what size this o-ring is?

Thanks,

Re: Anti-lock sensor o-rings

My dealer called back, no information on the o-ring size. I would have to buy a whole new sensor as an assembly to the tune of 55.74. There has to be some specs on this somewhere.

Re: Anti-lock sensor o-rings

Most hardware stores sell metric o-rings. Take the sensor with you and find one that will fit.

Re: Anti-lock sensor o-rings

Yea, I just find it a little frustrating that they have no information on this part. They have had a recall on the sensors and they need cleaned....all of them, thousands of trucks were recalled...and they never broke an o-ring and know what size they need to replace it??? I know I can go and find one somewhere but I figured somebody must know what size the o-ring is.

Re: Anti-lock sensor o-rings

There is money in parts maybe they only sell new ones with o-rings. This happens frequently. Shipping costs more than the part.

your stated re-call reason is not correct. this was required because of the rust that forces this sensor away from the gear wheel internal to the wheel bearing housing. the metal surface mounting area of these sensors needed to be filed down on my vehicle. then after installing the sensor cover this area with a mineral base undercoating

prior to removing this sensor it is best to spray wd-40 or another lube that WILL NOT damage the rubber/wires/connectors etc...this should help ease out the sensor..

with the sensor seated then the sensor voltage should be measured a reading of 480MV AC is what I got...prior to this repair I got 300MV AC this caused the ABS to come on when braking at low speeds..

Try this site. You'll need to e-mail them with your VIN and the info on what you're looking for. They're really pretty good about finding stuff for your vehicle.
