Found On Road Dead (FORD) - Taurus

WOW!
$265 for towing + storage, because daughter had her car parked @ a store!

1) We paid $265 ransom, but the car wouldn't start.

Himmmm!
Did this car run out of gas, or was the car sabotage?

2) Checked the fuel rail, and there was no fuel.
3) Rolled the fuse, and fuel pump relay for the fuel pump, and put 2-gals of gas.

$256 (Towing) + GAS + TIME = $500 , because her car was out fuel.

Bingo!

The fuel rail was empty, the car didn't even fire, I really think she ran the car out of fuel.

It could of been another $500, if she got bad service at a local service station, they would of replaced a good fuel pump, that isn't bad.

Picture a $1000 hussel for just running out of fuel.

Re: Found On Road Dead (FORD) - Taurus

I don't follow your post. Are you saying it bullet 3) that you put 2-gallons of gas in and the car still didn't start? If so, I don't think the issue is just that it ran out of fuel. What does the fuel guage show?

Was the car towed to impound and it ran fine up until that point? If so, I'd suggest you check the fuel pump inertia cutoff switch. The towing of the vehicle may have tripped the inertia cutoff causing an open circuit to the fuel pump. The switch is located in the trunk (may depend a bit on the year of the Taurus) and can be easily reset if tripped.

The car is running, it was a fuel problem. She ran out of gas, money, and had the car towed.

I drove 100 miles for a $500 Lie, it could of been worst.

Seems like this year they are the first ones to see the Chevys cross the finish line first. It is also a Freaking Old Rebuilt Dodge.

She pawned $1200 worth of jewelry, and got a Tattoo.
karma or someone must of tripped her, because her toes and knees were scraped.
I thought child support was over, it could be worst.

1-Month later, we get a mechanics lien!
For crying out load, we paid & picked the car up a month ago.

Elementary guidlines: When fixing an appliance be sure it is plugged in, when fixing a car, be sure there is gas in the tank.

Re: Found On Road Dead (FORD) - Taurus

The saying is "When testing", not fixing. Fix an appliance while plugged in and you'll probably get zapped. I only mention because I've been working on the washing machine this week instead of the car. Fried a connection when I forgot to unplug after a test run and went back to fixing. I guess I'm getting a bit old.

Re: Found On Road Dead (FORD) - Taurus

The Towing company towed the car, sabotage car by draining fuel, held it for a ransom, and filed a mechanics lean.

Awareness - This car didn't run out of gas, it was legally stolen.
I don't trust dealers, mechanics, or tow trucks!
