Blue Max F/C

This is a Polar Lights Mustang funny car kit that I hope to make into the Blue Max car (as long as the decals lay down over that front hood bulge? If anyone has built this with the white decal stripe for the hood I would love to hear how it went, please respond) I have this in the white glue/mock-up stage now after working out thing like wheelbase adjustment for the Mustang body to get the front wheels somewhat centered in the wheel wells, added sheet plastic to the tin work above the injector hat so it will mate up to back of windshield. etc. etc. Now it’s time to soak this in the warm bucket of water to break it all down and start building the real thing. Thanks for looking!

Interesting way to "dry fit" your parts. I like how this one is coming together though Charlie. Since I've gotten back into modeling, the Blue Max Mustangs have been my favorite.
As far as that hood decal... Use some MicroSet under it and some MicroSol over it and it'll go into those crevices just fine. Just work it in there with a wet brush and a couple slits with a new blade and you'll be good to go.

Re: Blue Max F/C

Thanks Erick! I got a little more done on this. The wheels/tires are done, detailed with my valve stems and smallest hex fittings used for lug nuts. The seat is complete with my harness set converted to a vintage style. Thanks for looking!

This is going to be awesome to see a build from the man behind the parts!

Looking forward to seeing where this goes

Re: Blue Max F/C

Great finish. I was using some metallic blue from Duplicolour just a few days ago and I love how well it sprays. Great stuff.

Re: Blue Max F/C

Thanks guys! I got the engine finished with braid and constructed a trans blanket out of an old t shirt LOL. Also added more weathering to engine.
