Starter relay wiring?

i am looking for a good diagram of how the 97 sunfire 2.4 wiring should be running through the Relay. I am concerned about noise coming from the engine/transmission when sitting in park idling. Sounds kind of like a knock but you cant here it at any other point. i noticed while changing motors out that there are alot of splices going to the starter and the relay. I am worried that the starter gear is always engaged.

Thanks for the help.

Tom

Re: Starter relay wiring?

You would have burned up the starter within 20 minutes and smelled it if it was staying engaged. Same thing if the two gears where stuck together. They make a groaning grinding type noise. Its not your starter!

Re: Starter relay wiring?

Thank you for that information. Have any ideas on what it might be?

I had the same sound coming from the car with the old motor and tranny also if that might narrow it down.

Thanks
