2002 CD Player won't shut off

Can someone please help me? I just purchased a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier Coupe VL with an aftermarket CD Player. The CD Player won't shut off when the key is in the off position and the radio does not work. The CD player shuts off when I eject the CD (but I suspect it is still drawing power) Went to start it up the other day....bam....dead battery. I suspect a wiring and or electrical problem. Any help or advice would be appriciated.

Re: 2002 CD Player won't shut off

For the radio not working, the antenna could be unplugged, otherwise the radio's probably bad. For it not shutting off, this is an RDS radio car which doesn't have a wire that's hot with the key on, the factory radio is turned on by a signal from the BCM. To make an aftermarket radio work properly, you have to hook the "on" wire into the wiper fuse... gives it power in "acc" and "on". They may not have known this, and may have run B+ to the "on" wire. Can you turn it off manually?

Re: 2002 CD Player won't shut off

The CD Player doesn't have an on/off switch but if I eject the CD it turns off.
