Will this posi unit work in my Nova?

I bought a posi diff. out of a firebird with id#410409 n gm8.Will this work in my 8.5 10 bolt rear?Will I be able to run 3:42 or 3:55 gears?Please any info needed kinda confused with the whole rearend issue.Thanx as always guys
