02 gas guage

have 02 gt gas guage reads full whenever its moving. at stop sign for a minute it appears to work correctly

The gas gage sending unit is bad. The gas is moving to the front of the car when you stop, and causes the sending unit to work. This is a common problem with the gas gage in the GM vehicles.

Yes that is what the float attaches to, which is the sending unit.

No problem. Mine is doing the same thing and the last time that I looked for one it was around $89 or so. I do not remember the web site that I found where they were selling the sending units. Just do a google search for the sending unit.
