Brake Booster Problem???? HELP 06 Silverado

I have a 06 Silverado pu When I push on the brake pedal I have brake but the brake releases and the brakes again with the pedal press. I do not let up on the pedal and this happens. Is the problem the brake booster or should I look else where. Thanks

Check your ABS brake system.
Any ABS lights on?
If any ABS codes post back code no.
Full of brake fluid?
Does it still stop good?

The ABS light came on the other day. I stopped and when I started the truck back up the light was out and has not been on since. That was the first time that the light came on. I've had this brake problem for a while. Brake fluid is full. Yes The truck stops real good.

if your problem is the brake pedal travel/force is normal and at slow speeds the brakes grab and then release causing your stoping distance to increase, this is usually the front wheel sensors which also could mean the the front wheel bearing[s] are in need of inspection/testing...

also check the cable/wire going to the front wheel sensors..

If ABS light come on it is telling you you have a problem in ABS system.
When ABS kicks in it will kick brake pedal up and down.

You need to get it on a ABS capable scanner and check for codes and problems.

If light comes back on get it on a ABS scanner before youy shut the ign off.

Some scanner will show history and past codes but when ign is turned off all present codes are cleared.

Post back what codes you find with a abs CAPABLE SCANNER.

When they are scanning it have them check all speed sensors for matchin MPH.
Are all tires the same size?
