Engine Water Temp
Just bought a 07 with the 53 engine and temp gauge reads 210. I drove three other ones before getting this one and they did the same. I have a friend that has a 08 chev pickup and his is the same. Seems kind of hot to me or is that the way it should be.
Thanks |

Check the actual engine running tempt with a digital infared thermometer. Running tempt should be around 195. http://www.calright.com/_coreModules...FRieWAodkzhWpA

Re: Engine Water Temp
I agree with you that they should run at 195. I was a mechanic for thirty years but have been retired for many years. I just thought it was strange that all the chevys I drove with the 5.3 ran right on 210. I just got rid of a 2000 pickup with the 5.3 and that ran at 195.
Thanks for the reply |

Re: Engine Water Temp
You are welcome.
Have you checked the actual running tempt with a thermometer? Post back what you find there.
