droaning noise from front end?
so, about 2-3 weeks ago, Ive started hearing a droaning type noise coming from my front end. it happens once I hit 30km/h or faster. I don't think its a tranny issue since changing gears doesn't change the sound, nor pushing down on the gas, doesn't do it either. I was thinking it could be something in the wheel hub area, as my speed sensor is out on the right front (no abs or traction; been broken for months). wondering if you guys have heard of this noise/possible noise? 98 gt - 160,000km

Re: droaning noise from front end?
I would start by replacing the known bad hub. It will more than likey fix your noise along with the ABS.

Re: droaning noise from front end?
I would second that diagnosis. The hub bearing isn't too bad of a repair. Just need a big socket for the hub-nut and cramp the steering all the way so you can telescopically collapse and release the drive axle half-shaft from the splined inner race.
It is also a good idea to check for wiring damage in the ABS harness in the wheelhouse as "stuff" from the road can tear things apart.
