i don tknow a good title. Well I just ordered 2 subaru kits. I plan on just adding some rims and some minor exterior modification. As for rims..do 1:24 20" rims look like 1:1 20" rims? I want to get the TE37's, but they wont look good on an impreza in person...or at least i dont think they will. Also where can I get some of those custom exhausts? like all they are are tips...I'm searched and searched and i just cant find anything!! its actually making me quite made really..I remember there was drift kit i think Aoshima made( or was it fujimi) i'm looking for as well. can someone show where i can get these..i've tried HLJ, and 1999.co.jp...and some random google shots, but just cant find what i'm looking for.
its been 4 years since i've touched a model and i'm just trying to do it again...

You seem to be on the right track by searching for what you're after. The custom exhausts will have to be scratch-built if you want more than tips.
There are models of drift cars, made by a few companies, but again you'll have to just search various stores to find them.
Being scale versions, the 1/24 wheels will look like the 1/1 versions; Meaning if the full size doesn't look good, neither will the scale pieces.

What i mean by scale sizes..is if it looks like 18's on a 1:1 will it look like 18's on a scale model? I want to get some BBS LM's but they only have them in 20's. So will they look like 20's on the scale model? I have 18's on my 1:1 it fits the wheel well nice and thats what i'm going for on my 2 little subarus.

I remember fujimi sold exhaust tips. I'm not try to get into scratch building..again.. like i said its been 4 years since i touched a model.

No, they don't necessarily look like the actual size. It's because kit manufacturers often forget about an important fact; numerical wheel size doesn't include the flange.
In that case, the scale wheel ends up looking smaller than the actual wheel, and many Fujimi kits have suffered.

Sometimes kit wheels can be bigger than the actual scale size. Tamiya tends to oversize their wheels, so they look better as a miniature replica. Also, some of the Fujimi wheel sets are taken from their Inch-up series kits, where the actual wheel size is "interpreted" bigger by 1 inch to give the same effect as the Tamiya.

In other words, it's case by case. The best way to find out is to name the actual product you are thinking of buying, and someone here should respond with the actual size.

IMO, 20" on a compact car like the Impreza will probably make the car look like a toy. Also you won't have much space to lower the car. To get the accurate 18 scale inch wheel, you'll need a wheel size of approx 20.55 mm ((18 x 25.4 + 18 + 18) / 24). FYI, Aoshima's 19" TE37 is 22.4 mm (27.2 with tire) and Fujimi's 18" TE37 is 20.9 mm (26.5 with tire)

As for exhaust tips, try searching by the word "muffler". That's what exhaust tips are called in transliterated Japanese. Fujimi makes these "mufflers."

WHOA! thanks alot hiro....the sad thing is...i'm in japan, and i have yet to find a good hobby shop with cars......everywhere i go its straight gundams!! i can find paint, but no cars...like i know it would be so much better if i could find the accesories such as rims and such...

"off topic" if you know what the trust DD exhaust is..do you think it will look good on a GD type subaru??
