Phenolic Blower Spacer?
So I have considered buying a phenolic blower spacer from ZZP, but when I contacted Zoomer as to what the benefits of the 1 inch over the 1/4 inch spacer (if heat does not transfer through the material) he said that no testing had been performed between the two. As of late I'm not as happy with ZZP's products such as the SC gaskets/valve cover gaskets/coolant elbows as all of them have failed in 5K miles. I wanted to know if anyone has bought one yet or if they are full of bull.

Re: Phenolic Blower Spacer?
I cannot buy one because I need coolant to flow through my throttle body up here in cold MN. You are in AZ, so I dont think that is an issue for you.
Phenolic is some good stuff, but I think the phenolic blower spacer is a rather new one, and I have not heard yet if it has had good results. Dont forget you will also need two blower gaskets, and I think at least 2 of those coolant 0-rings for the bottom of the spacer (unless your LIM has those coolant passages plugged).

Re: Phenolic Blower Spacer?
Yeah, and something that was kind of stupid was that Zoomer wants more to cutout the opening to fit a ported LIM or ported SC. I would figure that the option would already come available. There's no sense in paying $300+ to port the SC just to block the passage with a spacer. Does anyone know the drop in temperature from deleting the EGR? Heat is a big killer out in AZ, and with El Nino back, this next summer will be hell on earth so I want to start modding now.

Re: Phenolic Blower Spacer?
The phenolic material is very good at not conducting heat through the material.

Re: Phenolic Blower Spacer?
The throttle body heat prevents icing just like the carbs on my old Farmall tractors. Prolly in AZ this isn't so much of an issue as the air is not humid.
Not really sure what an insulator for the SC is going to do...its still doing all the pumping work and is still going to get hot.
