02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction ????

my check engine light came on, so i ran the scanner on it and it came up with
P0141 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
what does this mean? is it bad? how do i fix it?

i have a 1998 Z24

That means that there is a problem with the heater circuit for the post-cat O2 sensor. Check at the connector with the car running, it should have battery voltage across two of the terminals... can't think of the colors. Anyway, if you have power and ground there for the heater circuit, then the O2 sensor is bad.

yep, pretty much what he just said

the front sensor is on your exhaust manifold so it has no problems getting up to temperature. the one downstream past your catalytic converter is much farther away and takes alot longer to heat up to temp. thats why it has its own heater on it, to speed up this process. the heater on your sensor is not working. either cuz its not getting power because of a bad connection, or the heater/sensor itself is bad...
