Will a Crown Vic engine work in F150

Here is the deal I have a 97 F150 with a toasted engine. It is a Romeo vin code W engine. Is the bell housing the same as a Crown Vic vin code W 4.6 along with the intake? Basically are they the same long block and if not what are the differences? I have a chance to get an interceptor engine at a good deal.

Re: Will a Crown Vic engine work in F150

The engine is out of a 2003 or 2004 crown vic. That is what the ebay ad says. The only thing that matters to me would be transmission bellhousing bolt pattern and motor mount bolt location and pattern and weather my oil pan, timing cover, exhaust manifolds, intake manifolds and brackets fit. Thank you for such a fast answer. I figure I will have to change every thing over but as long as the blocks are pretty much the same I think I'll be in good shape.

First call a yard in your area for interchange first and most yards have an interchange book called a hollander

If you have enough money anything is possibly. They've been putting Chevy's in Jags ever since I can remember. I recently saw a picture of a Ford Escort Motorcycle! The image was enough to make someone swear off the hooch, if they were a drinker! If it is a Police interceptor engine I would think you'd want the H.D. tranny too, if it's usable.
