gauges 2001 chev silverado 5.3L
I have a 2001 Chev Silverado that the oil gauge does some flickering. it will be at 40 then go to 50 and back again. I have had this for a year now. could this be the oil pressure sensor? if so where is it on the engine. Also just lately my fuel gauge is doing the same thing jumping around. Is this a ground problem maybe? then I would think it would be on all 4 gauges. Let me know what you think
thanks gs

Re: gauges 2001 chev silverado 5.3L
it could be your cluster going bad, but don't hold me to that, your fuel gauge could be a bad pump the fuel level sensor could be going bad, but like i said no guarantees, thats just some of the experiences i have had.

Quote:
one owner found the trip reset if hit/pushed in too hard may cause the circuit board to crack, of the dash circuit.. if the fuel gauge radomly moves from full to empty and somehere else , this is the fuel pump assy fuel gauge float resistor. this gets a coating of film that interferes with the circuit conduction /readings.. on your oil pressure it could be the connector corroded or just a bad sensor...you could remove the connector and place a resistor of a few hundred ohms across the two pins of connector and see if it then stops jumping around...then if this is true you know the sensor is the problem.. |
