Back-up light help
OK once I got my daughters neon going after a cylinder head replacement, I did a walk-around and found the back-up lights do not come on. I checked the fuse with a lamp and it good. No power to the back lights. Checked with a DMM. Looked in the haynes book for help but they only show the manual tranny switch location. I see two of them towards the front of the car. A round one with three wire connector, I believe its called the neutral start switch. And there is another one about eight inches to the left of it and on the top. (looking from the top front of the engine) The book does not describe that one. Could that be the back-up light switch? Or the round one on the front side it? Or is in neither?
Thanks Erndogy |

Re: Back-up light help
When standing in front of the vehicle, the switch is located on the top right hand side of the tranny. It will be just underneath the clutch cable.

Re: Back-up light help
Thanks for the replies but the switch is working. After reading a post about the back-up lights working only when the shifter was between reverse and neutral I had my daughter sit in the car and move the shifter slowly between the two and the back-up lights come on when the shifter is in the middle.
Is there and adjustment that can be made to correct that? Erndogy |
