buying a 98 sonoma 2wd 4.3 auto

Hello,

Im buying an Sonoma 2wd 4.3 auto and was wondering what to expect for mileage. I will be driving all highway at about 60mph any ideas? Thanks

Also I have a chance to get a hypertech programmer for cheap. is it worth it? will that give me a couple mpg boost or not? Thanks

Re: buying a 98 sonoma 2wd 4.3 auto

Provided the engine is in good mechanical condition, (rings, valve train, bearings, etc) and it has been properly tuned up recently, and the Service Engine Soon light is not on, it should get between 19 & 24 mpg. Save your money and your sanity with the programmer, stay away! They are WAY more trouble than they're worth...at any price.
