06 Front end pop klunk when turning
FYI - Have had a persistant pop or cluck noise from up front while turning at low speeds. Had it looked at while under warranty but they could never duplicate the noise. Finally at 51K miles I heard a very loud pop. I took it to the dealership the next day armed with two TSBs on the subject, 0318-08 and 0308-08. Had a tech drive with me next to him. We heard the noise. They agreed to change both the steering rack and steering shaft as the TSBs dictated. Changed both last week and haven't heard the noise since. Would have cost me $2100 but my extended warranty took care of it less the $50 deductable.
These TSBs apply to 2006-2008 models.
