2000 silo radio

Ok I have searched and cant find any thing, well I want to install a new radio (cd's dont play anymore) and was wondering if I could still use the steering controls? Was thinking about a double din with dvd so I would also like to know if I could hook that up too the video system? Thanks....

More likely noone has any idea how to help.

That includes me. Sorry.

Exactly. There have been 53 views of this thread and it's apparent that the question asked might be difficult to answer. When I have been in a similar situation I have always replaced the radio with a used one the same as what was currently in the vehicle. I'll send a PM to the Mod over in the car audio forum to see if he may have an answer.

Re: 2000 silo radio

Some stereos have the option to reconnect to the steering wheel options. Others do not. Your best bet is to contact a reputable stereo place, like Crutchfield.com, and explain what you are going to do. There are wire connectors for the steering wheel controls that are needed to bridge between the steering wheel and the stereo. I've already researched this a while back for my Grand Prix. Being GM it should be the same.

PAC and PIE make steering wheel control interface boxes. You splice into a couple of wires in the harness, then plug the other side of the box into the headunit. The headunit should have a note about it being steering wheel control compatible. Be advised, the controls will NOT be as instantaneous as the control on the HU itself - it will have a slight delay.

Here is PAC's website with install intructions and which modules work with what
