A/C Outside Air Door Going Bonkers?

I'm getting a sound from the front A/C grilles that sounds just like the wiper motor going back and forth. I'm assuming there is some kind of door back there somewhere that has decided to open and close continously on its own. Happens with no notice, this noise of the door opening and closing and then mysteriously stops. It's like the car is haunted. Any ideas on why this has begun happening and what I can do about it? When I put the sliders on "HEAT" I'm not getting any hot air at all, so it could become an issue as the temperature drops. Gotta love Detroit, they just keep coming up with ways to amuse us owners...

Ok, I used keyword blend door to find some info, I will need to get in and troubleshoot. What is this with the radio not working afterwards? Is there some kind of security deal going on I need to be aware of, because I don't have any codes for it, car was purchased used. The vehicle is a '99 Windstar SE.
