2002 1500 4x4 lift

I would like to lift my 2002 1500 4x4 ext. cab
I would like to be able to put bigger tires on,
Iam new to what size I would go to, its got the stock
very ugly wheels and tires on it now,265/70/17
what would I be putting on it,Iam old school here
Iam used to older trucks with 15 inch and always went to 33x10.50x15
so Iam lost, I would like to go a few inchs higher and then get a few inchs out of it from larger tires.
HELP ME

when the vehicle height is changed the drive train axles need to be aligned for the cv/U joints to be straight no flexing or angle turning..if these are allowed to move the more the flexing the faster they fail..as to rims/tires after you get to lift the vehicle then pick out what is your choice based on the clearences...

Re: 2002 1500 4x4 lift

buy a quality kit and you'll be fine with all you parts... Im running a 8" lift and have had no problems (approaching 60k miles with the kit and almost 115k total miles) . 6 inch kits are most popular size for NBS silverados. what kind of budget are you looking at
