radio display 1/2 lit

well its a 2006 grand prix radio display has the left 1/2 not working. the right is still ok. what i am thinking is it might be as simple as the older gm radios to do the display light bulb change. or i could be barking up the wrong tree. looking to see what you guys have worked on. this is what the radio looks like (not the actual unit ) link :http://www.familycar.com/roadtests/p...mages/Dash.jpg

Re: radio display 1/2 lit

97-03 GP radios have 12v incondescant bulbs soldered directly to the PCB board, not sure on the newer ones, but it might be the same way.

A few of my bulbs burnt out last summer. I just pulled the radio out and sent it to a company who replaced all of the bulbs for 30 bucks and shipped it back to me. They were very quick and did a great job. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
