just a quick question, vortec heads will bolt on to a 86 and earlier block right? you just need a different intake for the vortec heads? thanks

Re: 305 vortec heads

Will fit and you have to buy the special intake manifold for the Vortec heads from GM,you can get it carburated or fuel injected. You gain up to at least 50 HP with the Vortec heads. There are upgraded intake gaskets too made out of metal,Fel Pro does make it as a kit and the part number is MS9800T if you want to know

Re: 305 vortec heads

That is what I have heard. That Edelbrock intake wil not work with the Vortec heads, bolt pattern is differant and GM only sells the special intake to work with the Vortec heads
