2001 T&C 3.8L low oil shut off

I recently had my 2001 T&C (3.8L 124,000 miles) die on me a couple times while backing out of the garage. I was beginning to think fuel pump but.... I did an oil and filter change a month ago and probably should have put another 1/2 to 1 qt. in. When I checked the oil it was barely touching the stick so I put another quart in. It hasn't died since. Is there a low oil shutoff on the 01 T&C's???

Nope, sounds like a coincidence.

I've never heard or read of it.

Maybe a dirty throttle plate? The earlier models had issues with exactly what you described. Cold start up, backing down the driveway, and engine stalled. Cleaning the throttle body was usually the fix.
