Rebuild or replace?
I just bought a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo 2.2L 2wd and am trying to decide if it is worth rebuilding the engine or if I should replace it with a reman. Any suggestions?

Re: Rebuild or replace?
Really depends on your situation and skill level. If you have the time and the desire to do it, carefully and correctly, you can rebuild the engine yourself. If you just want to get it done, a reman is a good option. Drops right in and there is usually a warranty with it. Either way, it will probably cost about the same. The reman might even be a little cheaper. That is, if you have the block checked, cleaned and bored (if needed) the crank reground, recon the rods and reman the head.

But if you have the time, tools/equipment and some ability, a rebuild is a lot more fun! Plus it gives you a good excuse to hang out in the shop every night! (Sorry dear, I'd REALLY love to sit hear with you and watch this Lifetime Movie about some scum-bag man doing his wife wrong but I REALLY need to get my truck finished!!!)
