1991 Jeep Cherokee Engine Problem
Okay from the start. First, when you start it up, sometimes you have to push the gas pedal for it to start. (Main Problem)-Then at 2 and three quarter rpm the engine will sputter. Also, when i brake and go around corners, the engine will shut off. Is it a vacuum line or something plugged? I have no idea. And final thing, when i go over bumps, the engine cuts out for a second but comes back on. I would very much appreciate feedback about my problems. Thanks.

Re: 1991 Jeep Cherokee Engine Problem
Auto or manual transmission? How many miles?
Could be a number of things...start simple: how are your cap, rotor and plug wires?

Re: 1991 Jeep Cherokee Engine Problem
First it sounds like you may have more than one problem. I would first check my throttle body. Clean the plates and remove and clean the IAC motor. Also test the IAC to make sure it is working properly as this is what controls the idle. You should never have to push the throttle to start. The cutting out over rough bumps sounds like a loose connection or shorting wire. Its hard to diag your kind of problems without seeing the jeep but that is what I would start with.
