94 bravada, stuck key in ignition

I was towing a small trailer and backing up to drop it off. turned truck off removed key to unlock hitch. jumped back in truck to start and key turned but truck didnt start, dash lights came on. tried to turn off and wouldn't return to off position. tried multiple times moveing steering wheel up, down left and right to no avail. used WD-40. i am able to barely turn key back to shut off dashlights. i noticed battery light is blinking and reading about 10 volts. the day before i installed a plug onto the tow harness. connecting wires inaccordance with owners manual. connecting 3 of the 4 wires and chassis ground. when i checked all lights they seemed good but when i stepped on brakes dash lights flickered. when i turned on headlights this went away but the trailer tail lights went out with brakes applied. i removed battery ground for about 5 mins at someones suggestion but still have the problem. any help appreciated, thank you.

When mine sticks, I turn the steering wheel just enough to release the key, whatever direction.

I don't know if the '94 has a solenoid but here's some later model info,

Thank You for the reply Chris. the link gave me some more things to look at for a fix. i don't know which will pan out but for some reason i'm thinking electrical which has to do more with the circomstances leading up to the problem. i'll post what ever fixes it. thanks again.
