PT leaking coolant
I have a 06 PT turbo that is losing coolant somewhere, but i cannot determine where. The oil is fine and no antifreeze smell from the exhaust. Every now and then I get a faint whiff of antifreeze out side the vehicle. It's a slow leak, because I have not lost much, but it is losing it somewhere. Any ideas? Also, the manual syas use only HOAT antifreeze, but the parts store guys say they have prestone that is compatible with ALL vehicles. Any advice on what to use?

Re: PT leaking coolant
Any new and good 5 year antifreeze is safe. Read the label. Antifreeze can leak from a number of hoses and drip onto your hot engine and smell, including a water pump. First, when the engine is cold, take the rad cap off and let the engine warm up. If you see tiny bubbles or foam, you could have a leaking head gasket. Fix it fast if that is the case. Also, cup your hand over the exhaust and listen. If the engine seems to sound odd or sputter quite a bit, again, possibly a head gasket. I would check all hoses first. Good luck.
