interior lights wont turn off
The interior lights on my 92 limited wont turn off. Yesterday I removed the wiper delay box because my wipers would not shut off and this morning my battery was dead. After getting jump start noticed the interior lights would not go out. All doors are closed and lubed latch of rear hatch and switch seems to move.

Re: interior lights wont turn off
My first thought is an electrical issue. How are your battery and battery cables?

They seem to be fine battery has held charge since jumping and recharging have been removing negative cable when not driving.

Re: interior lights wont turn off
I think the door switches use a 'ground' method.... that is, when the door is opened, the door switch connects to ground and the light goes on. Therefore, if one of the door switch wires or the switch itself is loose or shorting out, the light goes on.
Imo, remove the door switches one-by-one, so they are no longer touching the doorframe, then see if the light goes out. You should be able to isolate the bad switch. |

Re: interior lights wont turn off
Found what looked like the wire connections for the door switches on each side of dash and disconnected them and disconnected rear hatch switch and lights stayed on.

Re: interior lights wont turn off
Perhaps you bumped the dimmer and turned on the lights.
