97 silverado with faulty air bag sensor

hi
i need to change a faulty air bag sensor (water got in cab launching boat). sensor located under driver side seat. is it as simple as disconnecting battery and changing out? found a matching sensor on ebay. thanks for any help.

disconnect the negetive battery , connection and wait 1 hour so that the air bag system fully discharges..then replace it..
